After searching the East and West sides of the valley for an adult community to find a home, we decided Sun City Festival was the right place to settle. We went to an open house early in the year and met Carl Stevens. We told him what we were looking for in a home but we were also talking to a builder rep for the possibility of building.After going back to Kansas we decided to put our house on the market and sold it in two weeks. Carl and Mary kept in contact with us sending us anything new on the market that might be an interest to us. We were finally able to come back out in June and they showed us every possible home on the market that would suit our needs and we had a home bought within a few days. Since we only had 10 days here, Carl was quick at getting an inspection done. The company he recommended was very thorough.Finishing the buying process from long distance, it was nice knowing that Carl and Mary saw to it, that all the items found in the inspection were taken care of and they always kept us informed on the events that were occurring. My wife and I, after visiting many adult communities in and around the valley decided on Sun City Festival in Buckeye for our retirement home. We visited on a number of occasions during the past few years and even spent time in one of the villas. We met with the builder rep on a number of occasions and were narrowing down our choice of model and amenities but after crunching the numbers decided on a spec home. With all the intentions of moving forward we made a final appointment with the rep to start the ball rolling. On that day we arrived early and had some time to kill so we decided to look around the neighborhood at homes posted for sale through the internet. The very first house we stopped at was vacant, so I got out of the car to peek in the window and grab a flyer. While my wife and I stood on the drive a couple pulled up in a golf cart and asked if we would like to see inside. At first I thought they were the owners and I felt a little embarrassed at being nosy, well little did I know at that point my wife and I were entering a wonderful relationship with Carl and Mary Stevens who would eventually sold us our dream retirement home.
